Happiness: The Dream and the Reality

Dr. Maria Sanders, Philosophy professor at Plymouth State University, explores the nature of happiness and shares her research on the importance of resilience and developing a sense of place. Dr. Sanders’ talk illuminates some of the complexities of the exhibition question “What brings you happiness?”

About Dr. Maria Sanders
Dr. Maria Sanders is a Philosophy professor at Plymouth State University and a licensed attorney. She has dedicated three decades to researching scientific variables for living full and flourishing lives, including the development of resilience and the exploration of how spaces become meaningful places. Maria has facilitated a town-wide happiness quest in Plymouth, New Hampshire and hosts a weekly radio show on WPCR-Plymouth (91.7 FM) entitled Philosophy 4 Life which offers a public forum for philosophical discourse. She has also cohosted the television show “Happiness Quest” on Pemi-Baker TV and recently published Sunrise Sunset, a collection of poetry on life’s greatest challenges.
